When I wrote my first novel, Sideline Ho I didn’t have an outline nor did I really have a clue as to who my characters would be. No, there was no magic formula or Louisiana voodoo. One day a crazy scenario intruded my wholesome thoughts and I pulled out a sticky note and started scribbling. I didn’t know why it was so important for me to jot down this crazy scene, but I did.
Before I knew it, my mind had begun to build on this crazy scenario and suddenly there were sticky notes with more crazy scenarios written on them all over the damn place; in my purse, the front seat of my car, and on the foreheads of my kids, lol.
